New Pictures

Gaines and Reed were visited by my family today. My parents brought Reed a "Hotwheels" battery operated Jeep. He loves it.

Gaines is still on nasal cannula. He is currently requiring 2 liters of flow and 50% oxygen. He gained 200 grams last night which is almost 7 ounces. Needless to say he will be getting extra doses of lasix today. Some of the 7 ounce weight gain is definitely fluid retention. He is breathing a little hard so they checked his blood gases and did a chest x-ray. Both the blood gases and the x-ray looked fine. They will continue to monitor the "hard breathing".

Below are a few pictures of Reed and his cousin Maddie in his Jeep and a few pictures of Gaines taken today.

Reed is growing up!! He looks like a little boy, not a toddler. Looks like the sidewalks in your neighborhood will not be safe again.

Gaines is getting big too. Love seeing him without the CPAP. He is such a cutie. So glad your families are getting to meet the little guy.

Have a wonderful weekend, and enjoy the family.

I have been following your blog and praying for you guys from the beginning, but haven't commented in a while. I just wanted to write and tell you how excited I am that God has allowed for Gaines to come back to your hometown. That is a huge step, and it must be amazing to be back at home.

I also had to comment to tell you something I'm sure you already know. Gaines is absolutely adorable!! I'd love to hear sometime what he's up to besides all the fun medical stuff. I am thankful for those updates too, but it would be fun to hear about any other developments he makes. I am not really familiar with how preemies develop, so maybe it's too early, but it would be fun to hear about anything you have observed about his personality, what he likes and that kind of thing. It's so cool to see him looking so good.

How much does Gaines weigh now?
He looks so cute (and NORMAL!!!)

Glad you're getting showered with love and support from friends and family now that you're at home.

The toddler bed transition was a tough one for us. My son would get up in the middle of the nigth OFTEN or early early in the morning and roam about and get into trouble!! Good luck with your process there!! If I had it to do over again, I'd prob stay in the crib as long as possible! But thats only bc of my experience! I switched at 15 mo. I think Reed is a bit older than that- isn't he? I can't remember right this second!

Blessings to you guys!
