Gaines has made some progress over the past couple of days. To recap, on Friday he was at 5 liters of flow and about 80% oxygen. Since Friday, Gaines' oxygen requirement dipped to about 60% on 5 liters so the doctor decided to wean the flow. The flow was reduced to 4.5 liters on Saturday morning and Gaines tolerated it. Saturday afternoon the flow was reduced again to 4 liters and he tolerated that as well. This morning, he is on 4 liters of flow and 70% oxygen. Praise God for small steps forward.
The little guy has continued his weight gain. This morning he was up to 7 pounds 7 ounces. At this rate you will be able to use the term "chunky" to describe him very soon.

He is such a beautiful baby! I am so happy that he is continuing to progress so wonderfully! Thanks for continuing to keep us updated. I am a faithful Gaines follower and love to hear updates about this little man!
What precious pictures of this strong little man! I love seeing him without his hat too-Ryan is jealous of all that hair..haha (it's taken Ryan 2 years to get a good amount of hair on his head!). I continue to keep you guys in my prayers and follow your blog every day. God Bless!

Absolutely precious! I certainly hope some of his doctors and/or nurses from GW are able to keep updated on him through your blog. It so wonderful to see how well he is progressing - what a blessing!
