We have made it to double digits...Day 10

No news so far this morning. The nurses have taken Britt's temperature and it was fine. They will monitor Gaines' heart rate later this morning. The nurses monitored it last night and it was great.

Normally in Montgomery, we take Reed to Chik-Fil-A each Saturday morning. We have found a Chik-Fil-A nearby in the George Washington Student Center. For no other reason than to feel normal, I am getting Brittany and I Chik-Fil-A this morning.

Yesterday I spoke to our Pastor from Montgomery, Jay Wolf. He was calling to check on us and to pray for us. I told him that Brittany was in the bed and that I was sitting in my chair/bed. He then told me something interesting that has stuck with me. He told me to think of the chair that I was sitting in as God's right hand. He told me to think of the bed that Brittany was in as God's left hand. He told us we could rest assured that God's presence was in our room and that he had us both in his hands.

Please keep praying for no infection and that Gaines will grow to be big and strong.

Beau

So happy for double digits! Enjoy your Chick Fil A. We should see Reed later today. We'll take great care of him - Kathryn is looking forward to a play friend and Maddie can't wait to see him. We'll have all his favorite foods at daycare Ellis!

Love and prayers - Kelly

Dear Brittany & Beau & Gaines!,

Congrats on making Day 10!! I've been praying for you since I received an email from Gholson. (I go to church with him & Lauren).

I've enjoyed reading the posts and wanted to let you know that besides storing Gaines' cord blood, you may also be able to donate it for research. I did this 10 years ago with my twins' cord blood in the hopes that it would help eliminate the need to get cord blood from other sources as well as help find cures for various diseases. I'll try to do some Google searches and see if I can find out how you could do this. (If was VERY easy 10 years ago.)

Dear God, please continue to fill Beau & Brittany with the knowledge that they are in Your Hands and let that knowledge shine out to all around them so that they can be a witness for You.

Have a great Day 10!

Hi,

Someone posted about your story on Katherine Wolf's caringbridge site. My husband and I live in downtown DC and would love to offer our support. If you find yourself in need of someone to run errands, etc. or you want a home-cooked meal, please let us know. We are really willing to do anything. We will keep you in our constant prayers.

I am a young pastor's wife in Alexandria, VA [just right across the border of DC] and I just read your story from another person's blog when she requested people to pray for your family.

I would love to keep you company, bring you a snack, or pray with you two and somehow offer you some support as you are far from home. If my church can help in anyway, please do not hesitate to ask. We are all the body of Christ.

I am praying for you right now and believing God's Best for each of you.

Hi,
Just found your blog through Kelly's Korner. I will be praying for you and the baby. I went into labor at 21 weeks and spent the next 16 weeks in and out of the hospital on full time bedrest. My little one is a healthy, happy 21 month old. It can be done and you can do it! Good luck, prayers coming your way...

I am from Kelly's Korner...

I have some small similarities to your story. The main on being that I was in the hospital for 47 days prior to our second son was born. I had a 20 month old at home! Heart breaking BUT God carried us all through!!!

I also had a very preemie baby! I see that you guys have experience as well, with preemies, through your niece. My child is also a walking miracle! Gaines will be too!!!

Father God, I come to You now on behalf of this sweet family. I ask for the perfect plan to be played out because we know that Your plan is the perfect one!

I ask that Reed understands WHY he is with his grandparents and not with parents. Give him peace and an understanding that only YOU can give his little mind and heart.

I pray that EVERYONE stays healthy and HAPPY! I pray that YOU give them peace and assurance. I pray that in the darkest times, they remember the YOU orchestrated this whole situation.

You know why and how and everything in between. Give them all PEACE! Hold them close and give them comfort!

Thank You in advance for the things that will glorify YOU through this situation!

Amen and Amen!

I will check in often and with excitement knowing that the Lord will prevail!
