Sunday Night

It has been a boring day for Brit...good news. After the scare this morning, she has calmed down and been able to relax. Right now they are monitoring Gaines' heart rate and everything seems fine.

Brit got to spend the day with her mother and father. Her sister and I took Reed to the Circus. Reed was so funny at the circus. He kept dancing in his chair. Whenever the elephants or horses would come out Reed would point and smile. He was so cute.

At one point during the Circus I had to take Reed to the concourse of the Verizon Center (a 17-month old's attention span is only so long). Reed ran up and down the was virtually empty as everyone was inside watching the circus. After a while he got tired so we sat down on a bench together. He crawled into my lap and kissed my cheek. All of a sudden it hit me that he would be leaving tomorrow and I didn't know when I would see him again. I began to cry. The next thing I know, he is patting me on my head, as if to say"Its okay daddy". I had to smile.

My prayer tonight is for Reed. I know this time apart is harder for me than it is for him. He's so young, he doesn't understand. I hope one day he knows we scarificed this time with him so we could bring him his baby brother.

Brittany and Beau,

The Circus--reminds me of the time many years ago when Aunt Sherry and I took Brittany and Abby to Montgomery to see tha Ringling Bros circus. Good time. Hope you remember Brittany. We are thinking of you and saying a prayer also.

Beau - why do you make me cry? How can I be so sad and so proud at the same time?
You are right - he doesn't understand, but he knows you and Brittany are Mom and Dad and that you love him.
Like I said yesterday - you won't feel any different about him when he is 30 - He will still be your little boy.
I love you

Beau - it's easy to feel guilty right now because there are so many things that have changed. You know that you are doing this for Gaines. As much as you love Reed, think how much you already love two sons! The feelings that you and Brit both are having are so normal and EXACTLY what Greg and I went through. I'll pray for peace for you both to know that no matter how and what you ache for, that in the end, it is worth every second. Praying for you - we love you guys!

Wayne and I are both praying for you guys during this trying time. I asked for prayer from our church this morning for you, so all the Andalusia Presbyterians are pulling for you.

Please know that Mark and I will pray for you as you go through this. I am also sharing this with my Sunday School class prayer list - great prayer warriors! I will specifically pray for Reed and your emotions related to being away from him - Mark and I can't imagine being away from Turner that long. Know that we are thinking of you!

I don't even have the words to express how strong the two of you have been. The way you are allowing God to work in your lives is a testimony in itself. I will be praying for the both of you tomorrow having to say goodbye to Reed, and I know God will comfort you both as well as Reed.

I pray that Gaines continues to put up a good fight and hang in there with his mom! Can't wait to meet the little guy. God Bless! Brandi
