Day 7

Fortunately I have no medical news to report. However, we do have some good news.

Brittany got to take a shower this morning. This was the first time she had done this in five days. It made her feel a lot better. When she was done she dried her hair and put on her makeup. I think it gave her a little bit of normalcy. She is now going to spend the rest of the day in bed.

Soemthing else interesting happened this morning. GW Hospital has many security "checkpoints" in the hospital. Each morning I go to the cafeteria on the first floor and get my morning coffee. When I return, I have to pass through the main security "checkpoint" in the lobby. When you approach the security desk, you have to sign in, identify why you are there and show a picture ID. As I approached this morning the security guard waived me through and said "Good to see you this morning, Alabama". From day one all of the secuirty guards have commented on my Alabama driver's license. I guess we have been here long enough the hospital staff is starting to know who we are. It sounds weird, but simple things like that make you feel at home.

Thanks for all the prayers. We can certainly feel God's presence in our room.

Beau

Hey guys,
I found your blog through Angie Smith, and just wanted you to know I am checking on you daily. I have had two friends whose water broke early...they both had sons born weeks later without infection and are happy and healthy. I know every situation is different, but hope that hearing similar stories will give you encouragement.
Praying for you in San Antonio, TX~

Found your blog through a friend from church (We workship at Landmark Church in Montgomery). You and your family are now on my prayer list. I am praying for God to wrap his mighty hands around your little one and hold him firm until he is ready to safely arrive. May God's peace be poured out on both of you as you take this journey of faith, In the name of Jesus Christ, my Lord and Savior, AMEN!

Hi Brit and Beau,
I just checked my email for the first time since early last week. I am sorry to hear about your complications, you know God is with you both. It sounds like He has been letting you know that. I will pray for you all and if you dont mind I will put you on our prayer list at church.

Brittany and Beau, we all take for granted sometimes how wonderful "normal" can be. I hope ya'lls new normal routine continues.

We had a Federation staff meeting this morning at work and David gave us an update on you. We all said a prayer for you. Everyone here loves you, Brittany, and even though we miss you - we hope you are there for WEEKS!!!

As you know, I consider you a "high maintenance" girl any way, but in this case I'm gonna cut you some slack (wink). Take care and please know you that are in my thoughts several times a day. I check your blog many times daily just to be sure you are still in your new routine. Hang in there - you too Gaines!

I teach with Janie Higginbotham in Auburn. She e-mailed us your blog address and asked for prayers for you.
My husband and I have a 22 year old daughter that we still call our miracle child. I had many complications with pregnancy but made it to almost 31 weeks. Carrie was born weighing 3 pounds, 5 ounces. She will begin medical school at UAB this fall. She has been such a blessing to us and others as well. She was definitely meant to be! God is good. He will take care of you. Your faith is shining through.

Hey Brittany & Beau,

I have been keeping up with your progress through Aunt Sherry and through your blog. Ginny has one and it is great for updating lots of people in a hurry. Please know that our family is praying for your family, specifically that there will be no infection and that Gaines will be able to stay with Mommy for a while. I check up on you, Beau and Gaines daily. By the way, I love that you are using the family name for your precious little one.

Much Love,
Nancy Williams
