Day 11

Everything is still good as day 11 in DC begins. They are about to measure Gaines' heart rate.

When Britt and I woke up this morning we talked about how many people will say a prayer for us this morning at Church. We talked about how awesome it is going to feel knowing so many prayers are being said. Then we opened our blog...typically we have 10-15 comments per post. Our post from last night had 32 comments! It was so weird to be talking about the number of people that would be praying for us and then read 32 comments (A God Thing).

It is so humbling to read that many comments from complete strangers. To know that we are being prayed for by so many people that have never met us. We know that God is with us and that God is answering our prayers.

Thank you to everyone who is praying with us and for us.

Beau

We're praying for you in Seattle as well!

I found your blog through another blog- I think it was Kelly's Korner, but I have serious pregnancy brain, so could be wrong about that as well.

I'm glad you're staying busy and having lots of company to keep you occupied. I was on not-to-strict bedrest for two weeks and about lost my mind, so cannot fathom what you must be going through! I hope your little one continues to do well in there and that God gives you supernatural patience. :)

You made it through one more day. Yaaaay!!! I had a prayer time for you this morning, and I will continue to pray. If it's possible, open your curtains and look out at the glorious spring exploding around you...even if it is a courtyard.

I found your blog through another blog (Kelly's Korner blog)

I just want you to know that we are praying for you guys here in Indianapolis, IN as well.

I pray that the infection continues to stay away and the baby stays put for as long as possible!

Good morning! We're continuing to keep up with you guys and pray in TN. I'm so thrilled how well everything is going! I hope you're thoroughly enjoying your bedrest boredom... Are there any books, puzzles, etc that would help pass the time? I tried to learn to crochet when I was on bedrest but magnesium and pre-existing clumsiness prevented me from creating more than a 6 inch long piece :) It did make a handy paddle once my son was in the NICU, though :)

At any rate, know that we're thinking of you and praying for you and are so happy for your progress!

Hi - I'm coming over from Kelley's blog and just wanted to offer some words of encouragement. We are also praying for you all and hoping that this little one stays put for a few weeks longer at least.

My second pregnancy (he's six now!), I was put on bedrest at 22 weeks. I had another child who was two at the time and that was the hardest part of all - not being able to do anything much with her. I was not far away from home like you are though and cannot even imagine how much harder that was. I just wanted to let you know that we all survived and my daughter has never shown any signs that she was not loved because of me being unavailable to her. I know that sounds silly, but we all came through it and stronger. I ended up having my little guy at 35 weeks (we were very blessed), but the bedrest was very tough emotionally and physically. I was a very active person and we all had to make very big sacrifices. However, it was worth every minute.

I just wanted to share that I know how tough staying put is. Keep your heart up. You have a wonderful support in your husband and I know that you will be with your other baby soon. Hang in there. You're in our prayers.

We live in N.VA, not far from DC. If you need anything, please email me and I can help out. I'm at irishsamom@msn.com. I am serious about that. Even if you'd just like a friendly face to visit. I was treated at Georgetown hospital with my second, so I know DC very well. Please don't hesitate. I am a stay at home Mom presently and I teach in the mornings, but otherwise I am happy to help.

Praying and hoping that this little guy will hang out for much longer,
Tricia and family
Ashburn, VA

I am not sure how I found your blog, but I am glad that I did.

I know what it is like to be in the hospital and counting days! I was able to hold off two whole weeks when I was pregnant - not because my water had broken but due to severe preeclampsia.

Keep your head up and keep having that positive attitude. I have been, and will continue to, pray for you all!

Hi, I'm coming over from Kelly's Blog. Just wanted to let you know you are being prayed for in Gainesville, Texas. God is in control of the situation even when we feel it is out of control. I just pray for renewed strenght and faith. Will be checking on you daily.

Just heard the news (sometimes 90 miles from Montgomery still seems far removed), and wanted to let you know you've got more prayers headed your way from us here in Birmingham. Hang in there and know we're all thinking about you.

Beau and Braittany,

Thank you for continuing to blog. It is so uplifting to read your blogs and see the faith that you are exemplifying. And the comments from all over the US of people that have been touched and are touching you and praying for you. We thank God for another day and trust that He is in control --even though the Dr's may think that they are. ;o) We are praying for you in Pensacola. In His Love, Sandy

I know of a very similar story - expecting mother on a work trip far from home delivered at 24 weeks just in December. Visit her blog at "http://delangefamilytx.blogspot.com"
I don't know her personally but have followed their story... she may be a good source of info over the weeks/months to come.

Just came upon your blog this morning and have spent the last little while catching up on your story. I started at the bottom and worked my way up and was so relieved when the next post was always good news. I'll continue to follow your story and pray for you all!

Thinking of you in Idaho!

Here from Kelly, too. My story is not too similar to yours, but I do know the trial of finding yourself unexpedly admitted to the hospital in an attempt to safe the life of your unborn son. My heart aches for you, while it rejoices in the miracle that you already are, medically. Praise God for keeping you and Gaines healthy thus far.

I'll be following your blog from here outl know you are in the prayers of a family from Nashville.

Hello, found your blog through Kelly's Korner. You are being prayed for here in Arkansas. Sounds like you are doing very well, hope that continues!! I am a high school teacher, so I am far from 15, and I LOVE the Twilight series and actually just rented to movie last night. I like to book so much better. Hope all stays well!!

Hi Beau and Brittany,

It's a good thing Kelly told us about you - look at how many are praying for you now!

I read all of your posts last night, and have had Gaines on my mind ever since.

God IS working miracles, not only with you two and the baby, but in the lives of many others that read this.

Blessings and continued prayers,

Such a joy to see that you are struggling to find stuff to update us on. That means that Baby Gaines is still safe and sound and exactly where he needs to be. We're still praying. Brit, don't be embarrassed about Twilight. I read all 4 in about 2 weeks. They're fabulous. And I'm certainly (sniff) a non-15 year old!! Hugs to you both!

Jackson, Penni, & the boys

P.S. I have the 2nd & 4th books. I'll send them when you need them.

I am glad to hear of another uneventful day! Can you at least see some of the blooms around and throughout DC? I know during the Spring, it is beautiful up there.

I hope today is as boring as the last 10!

Hi--I found you through Kelly's Korner blog and felt compelled to write. I completely understand what you are going through. I went into labor at 29 weeks when my water broke. I remained pregnant for quite a while longer and had my son at 31.4 weeks. I know how it is to unexpectedly find myself in the hospital and to be told you are not going anywhere until the baby is born. I know how it is to have the NICU doctor come in and tell you that you will deliver your child early and there's nothing you can do to stop it. As hard as it is, try to use the time before your son is born to relax. I caught up on all my tv shows, read lots of books and magazines, and even did a knitting project while I was in the hospital. Keep your trusting in God, he knows what he's doing and there's tons of people out there praying for you.
